O incomprehensible Creator, the true fountain of light and only author of all knowledge, vouchsafe, I beseech Thee, to enlighten my understanding with the rays of Thy brightness, and chase away from me all darkness of sin and ignorance. Thou who makest eloquent the lips of the speechless, instruct my tongue, and pour on my lips the grace of Thy blessing. Give me a diligent and obedient spirit, quickness of apprehension, capacity of retaining, and the powerful assistance of Thy holy grace, that I may apply all to Thy honour and the everlasting salvation of my own soul. A Prayer for Priests before instructing the People.
Come, O Holy Ghost, replenish the hearts of Thy faithful, and kindle in them the fire of Thy love. Send down Thy Spirit, and they shall be created, and Thou shalt renew the face of the earth.
