Fatima Center Press Release Confusion's Masterpiece: Libya and the Mid-East March 23, 2011 Libya is but a more pronounced example of the lack of clarity that pervades the uprisings throughout the region. The desire of the "democratic" West to root for the good guy — the party that is perceived to share Western values — and to lend support is being frustrated by the inability to identify exactly who is the good guy in the various scenarios now unfolding. This causes frustration, both among the general populace and for their elected leaders. Frustration leads to oversimplification and a rationale for actions that may or may not serve a desirable end. It appears easier in Libya to identify an enemy than an ally. So Gadhafi is demonized and $150 million in missiles — so far — are fired from U.S. ships at anti-aircraft installations, while U.S., French and British warplanes bomb columns of Gadhafi's armor heading toward "rebel" positions. The charred hulls of tanks and trucks, the blackened and dismembered pieces of mechanized equipment, now litter the road to Benghazi, and the news footage of the wreckage is presented as visible proof that something is being done to save innocent civilian lives from a murderous government army. But who are the innocent civilians? If Ghadafi is removed from power, or his life is forfeited in a coalition missile strike, who will be in charge of this oil-rich and highly unstable territory where tribal rivalries are rife? No one seems to know. But the West is plunging ahead, with a pronounced reluctance, and the goal of implementing a vague United Nations resolution to protect civilians. This may come down to protecting those who have weapons, but no uniforms. There are also elements of the Libyan military who have defected to the rebels and who may be confused with forces still loyal to Ghadafi by an undiscerning air strike. Meanwhile, protests and “days of rage” are taking place in countries where strong-arm rule is the form of government. Some of these rulers are our allies and are killing their own people to maintain order and hold on to power. Are we going to take the side of the civilians in all conflicts? Where do we draw the line on our involvement and what criteria are in play for determining a worthy ally? The U.S. is now fighting the Taliban forces it armed against the Russians in Afghanistan. The transition from ally to enemy can be a rapid and dangerous one in nations divided by tribalism and prone to Islamic jihad. It would seem that we are approaching with great strides the diabolical disorientation that Sister Lucy warned us would be the result of ignoring the requests of Our Lady of Fatima. What will it take for the Church to wake up to this fact and implement the only solution that will avert the global disasters now taking shape with alarming speed? By the time this press release is posted, the situation may have changed dramatically. That is how fast events are moving. But one thing that won`t change is the Fatima prophecy and the Fatima promise: world peace in exchange for the Pope and the bishops consecrating Russia to the Immaculate Heart, or the annihilation of nations for failing to do so. It may be that we will exhaust the options of human “prudence” and endure a great deal more suffering before the world — and the Church — are sufficiently chastened to turn to Heaven and do as Our Lady asks. Let us pray and urge our Church leaders to exercise the one certain help given us at this perilous time. Come to Rome for “Consecration Now!” We have a limited amount of space presently available for our supporters who want to be in Rome in May for our “Consecration Now!” conference. “Consecration Now!” will begin May 8 and continue through May 13, 2011. We estimate that it will cost $1,350 per person. This includes 6 nights at one of Rome's premier hotels, three meals per day, admission to the conference, transportation to and from a Papal Audience as well as transportation to and from the airport. Airfare is not included. Last year's Fatima Challenge led to an historic breakthrough on the controversy surrounding the Third Secret. “Consecration Now!” has the potential to write a whole new chapter in the ongoing story of Fatima. Be there and witness it in person. Time is short and space is limited. Reservations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Please contact us as soon as possible to ensure your place at this historic event in Rome.
